Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

So so so grateful for this place being downtown. Nothing over $10 which is totally excellent for a downtown lunch. They have several options, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, or if you're like me, you'll go with all of the sides. A side salad, fruit, and a side of their seriously killer potato salad is $5, and it's filling, healthy-ish, and delicious. Can't beat their location for downtown employees. Service is always great and even with it being so busy at lunchtime, I'm always in and out quickly and with no problem. The Keep it Local deal here is a free drink with card that you can redeem anytime. They have multiple flavors of iced tea which makes a non-soda drinker very very pleased. Any time I don't bring my lunch, this is always the first place on my mind. If you're a breakfast person, you must stop here. The breakfast quesadilla is out of the world, but you'll definitely want to share with someone. They are open early for breakfast, snacks, and even a quick pick-me-up drink or cookie.

I hate to have to demote Café 7 a star, but I tried its chicken and waffle sandwich for breakfast one morning. Everything I said about the restaurant in my original post still stands, but this sandwich is not good, so much so that I need to drop Café 7 to 4 stars. First of all, both the waffles and the chicken are previously frozen. I know this because one of my waffles was nearly solid and very cold on the inside when the sandwich was first brought to me. The chicken too appears to be a frozen patty that you can buy in your local grocer's freezer section. Perfectly formed, if this was breaded by a person and not a machine I will be very surprised. I suppose I shouldn't be, it's a very large sandwich and it's only $3.29. So, when a sandwich this large is this cheap, the reason typically is the quality of ingredients. But, given how good Café 7's breakfast burrito is, I suppose I was expecting the same quality in this sandwich. I will say the maple schmear is great, it's got a lot of maple flavor and added a lot to the sandwich. They should put it on both sides of the sandwich, as the waffles are dense and dry. The fact that this schmear is so good (as is Café 7's salsa) demonstrates what its capable of. I absolutely will return, but never to get the chicken and waffles.

I took a late lunch today, as I usually do, to avoid the downtown lunch crowds. I was hungry but didn't have a clue what I wanted to eat. Since it is the day before Thanksgiving, something fairly light & healthy would be a good idea. I just started walking, a healthy activity, and arrived at the First National Center. I looked inside & at the menus of several places but nothing grabbed me. Then I ended up at Cafe 7. I had not eaten at this location yet. I had looked before but at those times the choices were all too heavy or didn't appeal to me. Fortunately today I checked out their seasonal menu & found just what I needed. I got the Maple Salmon Salad. It had maple glazed salmon, cubes of butternut squash, bacon, braised red onion & baby spinach tossed in Dijon vinaigrette. It tasted very good, was fairly healthy and only cost $9 - cheap for a piece of salmon at lunch! It was not the highest quality I have ever had but was appropriate for the price. I will definitely check out Cafe 7 Downtown again. I have behaved myself so far. Now the trick will be getting out of here without getting one of their many choices of cookies, all of which contain some form of chocolate, to take back to work with me!

I think all I had to do was quit working downtown for all these great restaurants to move in. I have worked downtown, off and on, since my first job when I was 15, including six years inside First National Center. There was almost nowhere to eat that was not a chain, was affordable, served a diverse menu with some healthy and vegetarian options and that could guarantee quick service. Since I left, DT has gotten Cool Greens, Nebu, and Cafe 7. You're welcome! This weekend I finally had a chance to check out this beautifully built-out cute 'new' space in the famously grand FNC. So many nice little touches, from the subway tiles in keeping with the age of the building to the family photos that adorn the walls. I was here for a private event, it must be said that they did an amazing job with the catering. What a great place to throw a private party. They're not normally open in the evenings, but how nice to be able to eat right in the big middle of everything at your own personal party before heading to a game or a show? I think they could book this space five nights a week for private parties and dinners if they wanted to. If had enough of the regular menu at the May Ave location to know that in addition to expert handling of special events, they take good care of the DT Lunch crowd. I plan to spend some time in here testing this hypothesis very soon. DT friends, holla atcha girl for some lunchie! I'm really proud of these young local guys for putting together a business that is simply so smart you have to wonder why it took so long for someone to put all these elements together. For all the time I sat in my office at FNC and debated choking down a Quiznopes or seeing if I could stomach another Sub-away, it seems we finally have a lunch scene downtown that reflects the wonderful renaissance our little city is enjoying.

Interesting order system. Very fast service. Delicious salad! Spinach, turkey, cranberries, walnuts, and blue cheese. I ate lunch here 2 days in a row! Loved it, once I figured out how to order.

A long time fan of the May location, I was really excited to see the downtown location open its doors until I remembered that I rarely make it out for lunch, and even less often downtown. Last Friday, I needed to run an errand and when I realized this was just down the street I popped in for a salad to go. I got in before the lunch rush (in line by 11:45) and that might have had something to do with it, but I had my order placed, paid for and bagged up ready to go in less than 5 minutes. When they said my name I looked around for another Lyndi, because my order couldn't have possibly been ready yet. The salad was perfect and less than $9 with tax. I plan on going back to pick up lunch for my staff- there aren't many places where you can treat for less than $10/person. PS: Don't forget to claim your free drink with your Keep it Local card.

I am a picky eater! This place is perfect for picky eaters! They have salads, sandwiches, and pastas. They have these sheets near the entrance where you can grab a pencil and select exactly how you want it made. The staff are courteous, prompt, efficient, and knowledgable. I have had: the mac n cheese side ( not baked, still rich and good) the salmon salad ( totally good, would order again) a turkey sandwich (good, fresh, nice bread, came with chips) a red velvet cookie ( too dense) Cafe 7 is good, with all kinds of options, at a good price, and at a good speed. When you're done eating, check out the building it is inside. It seems like some sort of government related building, and is very old, with amazing design features- peacocks and flower motif on the walls.

I guess I have to go against the grain here. I think the food is just mediocre. Nothing special, nothing terrible. I like this place for lunch for its variety. It all just seems very cafeteria quality to me though, which Im guessing is probably what it is. Go in at any lunchtime and see how bust they are and how many people they get served. It leaves no doubt in my mind that they are just making big batches of mediocre food. I like that tthey have salads, sandwiches, pasta, plates, etc. It really is good for lunch with a couple people that all want something different. It also is reasonably priced. I just think the quality is just mediocre. That's not a bad thing considering there really isn't much in terms of high quality lunch spots in downtown OKC. Ill sum up by putting it like this. I would come here for lunch since I work close, however I cant imagine I would ever wake up on a Saturday and crave it and drive downtown to satisfy that crave.

I was on my way uptown when I decided to stop off at cafe 7 for a coffee. I circled the block twice till I found a meter. Grabbed a card out of my backpack & two quarters for the meter. I put the quarters in the meter & hit the sidewalk. It was a beautiful cool morning, the sun was shining & the two block walk was nice & refreshing :) I get to the counter, ordered a coffee & a breakfast burrito. I handed the lady behind the counter my card but it kept reading error. The lady behind the counter tried it several times, error. She pulled her own card out of her pocket, tried it & hers worked fine. While I was standing there I checked my account that is linked to that card & everything looked fine. She then tried to punch the numbers in but again, it said error. My coffee & burrito was sitting there getting cold, so she says "don't worry about it, you can pay me next time you come in." I was astonished. I tell her I have to run back two blocks to my car to get another card I will be right back. She hands me the tray & She says "don't worry about it, you can pay me later." She was so insistent. I couldn't believe her kindness. So, I tell her ok, I will go sit down & have my coffee & breakfast burrito but I will run to my car after & get another card no problem. I go sit down & while I'm sitting there I call the number on the back of my card. I tell them I am at Cafe 7 trying to buy coffee & my card reads "error." The lady on the phone tells me I have a fraud protection block on my card :( I had loaned my card to my hubby the night b4 because none of his magnetic strips were working on his cards bc he washed his wallet in his pants. Apparently he forgot he was using MY card & put his number in twice when he tried to use the card. Then he remembered he was using my card & put MY number in, the purchase went through but they put a hold on my card :( Nucklehead hubby is more trouble than he is worth sometimes lol :)) So, while I am on the phone with fraud protection I am eating this burrito. This burrito is freaking amazballs! It has giant chunks of potatoes, perfectly cooked fluffy scrambled eggs, sausage etc., all rolled up in a rosemary flour tortilla! YUM! :)' The coffee is also spot on perfectly made WOW! After I answer the necessary security questions & tell her what hubby did, after she stops laughing, she says not to worry this happens all the time. Whew! What a relief! Glad I'm not the only wife that has a hubby that washes his wallet in his pants & then hijacks his wife's credit cards lol :)) I thank her for her help & I tell her I'm glad for the fraud protection services even if the fraud is from my own hubby :-/ She then says "Thank you Mrs. Y. for appreciating our services! Have a nice day & enjoy your coffee." She was cool, as I did enjoy my Cafe 7 coffee! :)' So, I go back up to the counter & tell the Cafe 7 lady what happened. When SHE also stopped laughing, she ran my card, I thank her for her generosity & her extreme kindness, pay & tip her for her over the top service. She tells me no worries she knew I was coming back, not a problem, to have a nice day :) I didn't catch the ladies name but I hope she knows that she made a loyal customer for life. Cafe 7 is 5 star awesomeness! "Lady your not only way cool, your a class act! And you were right all along... I will definitely be coming back to Cafe 7!" Well done! :))

I finally had time to check out the Cafe & downtown. My food took a little bit longer than the location on May, but I still got my pasta before 7 minutes. I was happy to see a few of the May locations faces. I loved the window seat , as i waited for my food. It slightly felt like I was sitting in Manhattan New York. As I waited in line to place my order @ Cafe 7 downtown location, I couldn't help but notice that there were only two cookies left in the Strawberry chocolate chip section. I waited frantically as other customers before me paid for their orders, hoping no one before me would purchase the cookies. Guess if they would have bought the cookies then I would have had to buy another type of cookie. I expected the cookie to have just the flavoring of strawberry and the hot pinkish color due to maybe food coloring. I took one bite and it was like a strawberry cake encased a chocolate chip cookie inside. Like a small child I had to look at the cookie each time I took a bite. Lol Normally I don't like desserts or foods that have surprise inside fillings, I don't know it just throws off my psyche. So I came to the conclusion that this was both a "cake cookie"

I stumbled on this place because I was in search of cool greens nearby, and decided to give them a shot in stead. The setup: They have little menus that the customer fills out, then takes up to the register. Not entirely sure of the purpose for these menus... Since you still have to go to the register... The six sigma in me demands that I ask why the extra step? But it's a gimmick, trying to be different than the other places in downtown I guess. I foresee that process going the way of the dodo, once someone points out how inefficient it is. However, I wouldn't fault them for it. I was there just before the lunch rush, so I can't give any testimony to how they handle a busy shop. When I was there they were super quick. The only negative issue was my salad came out a long time after my pasta... No biggy, it was early and they were just opening. The pasta was great. Not overcooked, good flavor, a little too saucy.... But overall tasty. The pros: 1) clean 2) pretty darn convenient if you live/work down here 3) pasta was good for non specialty restaurant. The cons: 1) typical downtown problem: parking can be rough to find. 2) convoluted ordering process 3) seem to be working out some staffing kinks. To sum it up, I'd give it another try for sure.

Came here on a business trip with a couple of co-workers for lunch (didn't want any free barbecue that was offering at my conference since I'm from Texas) and this place was a knock out the park. Had a great pizza pie with garlic, basil, and chicken that had great crispy but chewy crust. Like Which which, you grab a card to fill out a regular order to a custom order, fill out your sides, drink, and dessert! Plenty of space inside the restaurant to sit down with your people to convo and it is very busy during Friday lunch. Very reasonable prices for a nice cafe restaurant and service was very solid from the food coming out to being checked on.

One of my favorite lunch spots in OKC (both this one and the May Avenue location, depending if I'm coming from work or home). They have a huge variety of salads, sandwiches, pasta, pizza and seasonal offerings, and everything I've had has been great. I also love the breakfast and Starbucks additions in the new downtown location. I've had the breakfast burrito and the I'm Awake! breakfast sandwich, and both were delicious. Cafe 7 is quick, cheap and delicious. Perfect lunch spot!

Oh, Cafe 7. How do I always turn your affordable prices into a spendy lunch? By adding a delicious cookie, a drink, and a side, generally. But if you just stick to the entrees, it is totally affordable, and will fill you up. The food is of varying quality. People tend to love the pizzas, but I'm not so much a pizza person, so I usually get a pasta. The pastas are almost always on the up side of OK, but every once in a while, you get something where they sauce ingredients weren't well mixed, and you sort of have a congealing mess. The flavors are all eh, ok, nothing special, but the quality is also only eh, ok. The sandwiches I've had here have all been uniformly tasty, and again, the cookies are super yummy. Warning: this place is PACKED during lunch. This location is still relatively new, and as such, whenever I come here there are hardly any tables open and I feel like I see half the courthouse there. There IS a problem with food for a whole group coming out at different times-- and that's the same whether you're eating there or to go, and there appears to be no rhyme or reason to what entrees will come out later than others on a given day.

This is a solid addition to the downtown eating scene. I had a tasty-enough Cuban with some potato chips. There's comfortable seating, which is always nice. I plan on coming back to try a few menu items, but I'm not in any rush. I wasn't floored by anything they were doing there, but some of the pizzas and soups looked like they'd be worth a try. This is a good spot for a 2-person business lunch.

located downtown on the SE corner of Park and Robinson, this place is awesome I love it
(5)Shaun A.
Conveniently located downtown on the SE corner of Park and Robinson, this place is a perfect lunch spot for a quick bite or if you prefer to relax and take your time, you can settle into one of the many tables or booths while you watch the tv or even the hustle of the city roll on by. It's a very simple formula... great food for around 7 bucks in about 7 minutes. If you are worried about a wait, call ahead for pickup. I highly recommend the Baked Ziti or the Margherita Pizza!

We hired Cafe 7 to cater my daughter's wedding and we could not have been more pleased. The entire staff is so friendly and professional. Jay bent over backwards to do anything he could for us. Oh. And the food? The food was outstanding!
(5)Tory W.
Pretty good. I'd definitely go back. I had the Gobbler Sandwich, and it was great. Side salad wasn't anything spectacular. Reasonable prices on everything. Service was outstanding.
(4)Joy M.
I ordered a salad to go and thought it was decent, but not the greatest thing I've ever had. It's really hard to find a salad place that won't charge you $6+ so if I'm spending that much on a salad, I'd expect it to be pretty phenomenal! Anyway, made my own salad with mushrooms, bacon, tomatoes, chicken, and egg. You get to pick up to 5 toppings, but anything beyond that then you pay 0.75 for each additional. Not bad! My only gripe is that the lettuce was old and I didn't get enough mushrooms and tomatoes. They gave me plenty of bacon and chicken, which was awesome, but it sort of overpowered the meal.
(3)Anna F.
This is such a great find in downtown OKC since their other location is by Quail Springs Mall. It's great to have local restaurants around that area that people can stop in for a quick meal or to-go. This location is absolutely booming during the downtown lunch rush but they accommodate everyone so well and make sure you get in and out in a reasonable amount of time. It can get pretty loud in there during the busiest times but it isn't overwhelming either. Fresh, speedy and yummy! Cafe 7 is never a bad choice.
